The honest truth is that there's little difference in terminal ballistics between a hot loaded 45 Colt and 44 Mag from the Blackhawk. So pick the one that suits you. They will both last longer than you :) Talking standard blackhawks. The small frame 45's can take some uploading too but not to 44 Mag...

Well, I've had mine for a month now and worn them hiking and through wet and muddy conditions and such - they are even more comfortable than when I first got em but they really didn't need a break-in...

Nice catch! Classic 1895 with a classic scope.

If you're going to shoot cast boolits - just be sure they're sized .460" and they should do great! That micro rifling needs a snug fit. :)

turtle, I like my bearcat. It shoots quite well but no as accurate as my single six. It is pretty small but I'm still able to shoot it decently in spite of that - and it makes a dandy snake charmer with CCI shot shells. I've got a little El Paso Saddlery holster for it.

They have two breather holes on the instep so they can't be "proof". But in walking around my land and through puddles and such they didn't get wet inside.

Yeah, I figure at $39, even if something does go bad on them in a few years... so what!

I've had $120+ boots stuff out on me way too soon before. With these, at least I did't spend that kind of cash.

They really have been great so far though.

I have and can recommend the Lone Wolf conversion barrel - it works great, is accurate and you use the standard 10mm mags. I got mine from: http://www.glockstore.com But you can find them at Midway and other places.

I bought a used one - is marked with NRA engraving - is from a friends of NRA dinner I think. But otherwise, it's a standard .22LR and shoots great! Can't say enough good about it. The only thing I wish they'd do different is the sights - don't really like the plastic but they do function just fine...

Yep Rem 200 grainers. And Skinner or XS sights. I like the XS front "white line" blade myself. Very visible and quick to acquire - good in low light.
