Mike Venturino tested one in "Shooting Leverguns of the old West". the barrel on his slugged out at .406". He used a 280gr cast gas check bullet sized .408" 23gr of XMP5744 shot 1,329fps with a 3.13" group. 66gr of Goex FFG blackpowder shot 1,528fps with a 3.75" group. ...

It's one of the mystries of life Joe. when I opened the box on the Legacy it was a good looking winnie...... good fit and finish.but the trigger was so heavy, the springs so strong and the rebounder so stupid. who designed the system? who was in charge at usrac? and why didn't they care.?

I got one with the 32-20 about a month ago,then last nite just before supper I spied another ,makeing it's way slowly down the backyard to our garden. I went on full alert.grabbed the Marlin and no ammo in the house. :o .but there was for the .22 and all is well again. :D .

Good shooting. My one brother in law has eyes that I could only wish for. 30 years ago We would shoot at his range in the backyard 120yds measured. He has a T/C Hawken. 80gr of ffg under a roundball, and he could keep all of them in the black offhand. them guns will shoot if We do our part.

The Lyman/Keith. if it wont feed thru a lever send it to Steve. with Elmers load of 18.5gr of 2400 it runs around 1480fps out of my Winnie. With Paco's top load of 29gr of 296 it shoots 1850fps,and starts to get your attention.
