Just did that on my Marlin 45-70. I love it. Like Mescalero said, it's awesome to easily shoot with both eyes open while looking through the scope. Much quicker target acquisition.

Love those sixguns, especially the shorter .44 mag. I have one like that in .45 Colt except it isn't a Bisley. That might change one of these days. FWIW I find I can shoot the Ruger Mk-2's WAY BETTER than I can the Single-Sixes. Dunno if it's the ergonomics or what. Some (who unlike me, are good-enough shots to tell the difference) tell me that a .22-LR-only gun will be more accurate than a 'combination' WMR one, because the bore is different....

I'm chiming in a little late, but I agree, percolated coffee is darn good. I very seldom drink coffee, but when I do I'm very particular. I drink coffee occasionally when hunting or camping, and it's always percolated. I should just get a percolator for the stove, too.

Sorry I left out that detail. It's a .308. I'll have to see the gun, but from looking at pictures, it looks as though the newer models might have a more rounded top of the receiver and the older ones are flat.

He hit this bad guy 5 out of 5 times at around 50 yards, and the NYPD hits 9 innocent bystanders instead of their intended target. This guy seems like a class act, and we need more like him. Seems like some police departments need more like him, too. Maybe he can be a firearms instructor for the NYPD.

If she's a novice, give her the shotgun to start out with. She won't even notice recoil if she has to use it on intruders. TRAIN HER ASAP to get her used to using it. I don't have any experience with the migraines, but my philosophy is always to treat the cause if possible, and not just the symptoms. That is, unless you aren't worried about the cause. I guess if there's no pain and the doc says don't worry too much, I might not worry too much.
