I am a Generation Y'er, and i don't know if I find the post funny or sad. Mainly because it is largely true.

Old? or maybe the pc term would be well seasoned.

Obama care allows the son living in the basement because he has no job to be on your insurance until he is 26. Now you see why certain groups liked it.

I think you would have made a good dad.

My two sons are 23, and 28, graduated at the top of their classes, and here on Oahu where rent averages about $2500 a month  they have no choice but to live at home but they both work and contribute both monetarily as well as chores around the home. Neither have ever gotten into any kind of trouble or developed any bad habits. They are both active in our congregation and regularly read God's word. I'm pretty proud of them. I must say my wife's influence has made a most positive contribution. :D

Its the truth. I raised an "Xer" and a "Yer". My xer is a responsible and productive citizen, and....so is my Yer, but..........the yer thinks the world (and her parents) owe her a life and everything we ever earned should be passed over to her......before we be dead! (ebonics) In fact, I'll go as far to say most Y'ers are very much like ebony people.---------------------Smokewagon :D

I'm a boomer who grew up in the free love, pre aids, generation. I strayed a bit and can almost remember some of my youth.

When I returned to the lessons learned from my parents, family, and church things settled down. I'm using the same lessons now with my daughters and they are starting out right. I take it as a promise if you bring them up right even if they stray they will return. It sure worked on me.

The hard part is that the only lessons that work are when my words and actions are the same. The old "do as I say not what I do" works just as poor today as it did in the fifties and sixties.

Sadly so many have no moral compass of any kind in their early years. One of the young men at work told me he regularly does drugs with his parents and grandparents in front of his young kids. He assured me such behaviour is common. I had a hard time wrapping my head around that one.
