Boaring ....

Post by 86er »

Yesterday Ricky and I took the kids out hog hunting. His "kid" is a mere 18 years older than mine. Anyway Cody shot a boar hog with the 7mm-08 at 100 yds. The shot was at a steep downward angle so while the hit was good it came out a little low. Mr. Pig went into the thick brush. Cody allowed my boys to do the tracking job. In the failing light Justin held the flashlight and followed blood while Brandon kept his rifle at the ready. After progressing side by side with Cody and I following for 100 yds the pig could be heard just up ahead. As we approached we found it had turned around and was facing us. A little closer and it staggered to its feet and advanced towards us, though clearly mortally wounded. Brandon snapped the little carbine up and touched of a 360DW cartridge and the black blob dropped. Great teamwork all around!

Awesome! It's looking like you're going to turn out two fine outdoorsmen. Makes me proud to see there are still dads out there teaching their kids useful things.

Good for Cody, too. Sounds like he also knows how to teach youngsters. Hope that pig tastes good.

Oh yeah! Way to go! One things for sure, your boys won't be running out of hogs to hunt any time soon. :)

Congrats on a perfect hunt. The Boy saw his quarry snarl a bit, and took him out.

Sounds like hunting the way it's supposed to be done.

It just ain't right to make grown men envious of the adventures of an 8 (?) year old.

Well Done! Good hunt.

I'm not so sure about that! Given the teamwork the exhibited they would probably do a really good number on the feral hogs in a given region if told to do so! Excellent work on there part there!
