While I Was Away From The Forum This Summer…
I crossed over to the ‘dark’ side.
I never shot a crossbow in my life till this summer.
For many years I had some not so good thoughts about guys
that hunted with crossbows. Well I’m eating humble pie now.
This thing is a total blast; And I’m totally into it.
The day I got my new toy (Excalibur Eclipse).
All put together.
Built a wall rack to hang it.
Built a bolt rack.
Everything just the way I want it.
Added a small leather storage pouch to the stock.
First time I shot it in.
I’m ready for archery season.

Well heck if you was gonna buy onna dem der tings you coulda atleast gotten a "Parker" crossbow
I mean after all that would be only fitting since you have a shotgun by the same name
To be honest I've been looking at the Ten Point , Barnnet , Scoryped and Bowtech crossbows for a couple years now

I've always found "diversity" in my toys to be rather expensive !
I have a hard time having just one of anything
Parkers , Mannlicher Schoenauer’s , 6.5mm's and my family in the Philippines !

There are a lot of real nice well-made crossbows out there nowadays.
The reason I went with an Excal recurve, the simplicity of there bows.
No tune-ups, a whole lot less moving parts that can break or wear out.
And I can do a string change out in the field in about a min if need be.

WOW, one of them Black Assault bow & arrow gizmo's
Good thing you got one before the ban takes place.
Actually it is a cool looking crossbow. How hard to cock it?

Lady J already spilled the beans on you with this project. She posted your surprise when she returned from a trip. Nice set up and I like your reasoning on your choice. Blessings

De-cocking with the rope isn't even that bad, just have to be
careful and definitely make sure you removed the bolt from
the rail first.

Great set-up. I like the Excalibur over all other designs.

Casternett you are a class act You wood workin' is real impressive.
I keep looking at cross bows, they ain't legal for hunting with over here so I would need to stay in the deep woods
Your bad influence is making my itch far worse than I need it to be!
God bless and good luck.
Oh, I meant to ask, how far was that target and whats the drop like over distances?
Nath.
