I played with PCP guns for a while, but got tired of fooling around with SCBA tanks and/or pumping the darn things up. Spring guns or multi-pump guns fit my lifestyle better.

When I do choose to carry, 90% of the time is a Ruger LCP in my pocket. The other 10% is either a 38 j frame or a Glock 43.

The BL-22 is my favorite of the 22LR lever guns. The Henry would be my very last pick. I've never been impressed with Henry quality.

Just about everything you read says the best performing 9mm loads are the hot 115 grains. I'm currently using Corbon 155 grain +p in my Glocks.

I've seen a number of the old ones that had been rendered unsafe by jack leg gunsmiths. The old Model 70 trigger was much easier to work on in my opinion.

It's been a number of years since I melted any lead shot, but I don't remember it being that difficult. I don't remember the ratio, but we used the old lead shot with a little tin mixed in for most handgun bullets.

My only problem with military brass is the smaller case capacity due to the thicker brass. I have a few 223 loads that pretty much fill up a commercial case, but won't quite fit into the military brass.

The thing that p... all my friends off is the certified handgun list, they require ever model to be certified which apparently isn't cheap for the manufacture and some models therefore don't get done and are simply not available in CA. I've always been a big fan of Leupold. Many of the optic gurus on some of the scope forums turn their nose and talk about Leupold relying on their name instead of keeping up with changing technology, but they've worked well for my needs. As others have said, their warranty is fantastic.

I owned a M85 mini mausers in 7.62x39. Most of the actions were pretty rough as they came from the factory. They could be smoothed up some with a little work though.

I never did any in depth testing, but I always used pillow stuffing to hold the powder in place in many 454 loads. It did seem to help with consistency over the chrono.

I've loaded reduced smokeless loads w/ fillers for years in several cartridge rifles & had lots of fun but I've seen hammers go to full cock & half cock in a muzzle loader from too much back pressure through the nipple w/BP... Dunno what would happen with a duplex charge of BP & smokele...
