Re: Longer, heavier bullets in 50-110/50 Express?
PM sent! Nobody had any data that I could find when I got mine, around 14 years ago. So I cautiously worked up loads using a powder I had, have, lots of. I am interested in any data people have. My work up was with "surplus" IMR 4895. I bought a lot because it was $7.95/lb. I forget what t...

Re: 1886 Tang Sight Questions
I'd be careful with full house loads on a 50-110 with a tang sight! They kick harder than any mule. Watch out for your eyes. I put a receiver sight on mine! I noted the setting for ranges out to 500 yds. with each of the eight bullets I reload. Tack driver it is not but a locomotive stopper it is. I...

I played around years ago drilling a hole in a cast bullet that made it a HP. Of course I was a lot dummier then and put stuff into the hole topped it off with a primer. NOT suggesting that😬 but try drilling a hole as centered as you can get?? Sure would a like a range report to see how accurate the...

Would shooting a DA by cocking the hammer be the same? I don't have a SA but most of my shooting revolvers is by cocking the hammer then work the trigger.

I am no expert ! I think I would try a little more heat or add a little tin OR both!
I put my mold on a gas stove or a hot plate for a little while. Putting it on the pot took forever and so long to bring the mold up to temperature... like twenty times with rejects to get it hot.

I believe the MEC has a single stage press that if ordered for 410 3" shell, they sell a spacer that fits into it to load 2 1/2" shells.

Have you tried a 20ga wad as a sabot?
After I get my 410 mold I will no doubt be following your journey but on a smaller scale. I will have to try cutting the hull method and the wad method to see what works best for the 410. It's a 1100 ,so smooth bore. Have you tried any loads in a smooth bore?
