Mini Mauser CZ527
I think these little carbines look so good. Like a little Square Bridge Mauser and control round feeding.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
I don't have a CZ527, but I do have two CZ452s, one in .22 LR and .17 HM2 I bought in 2005. I bought the .22 to use for small game hunting with a suppressor, but it was too good-looking to chop and thread. Then I bought a new 452 in .17HM2 and threaded it. I have two Nephews who think that during squirrel season on my farm in WV, if it goes crack, that is a dead squirrel. The .22 I shot NRL 22 Matches with, and it is so accurate it puts you in the UNLIMITED CLASS just for using it.

I always admired the 527 as well. I wish I had picked up one in 7.62x39 and maybe another in 221, 222 or 223

I love the way the action and barrel are machined. And it mounts perfectly for the sight to be dead on for my eyes.

I'd love one in 22 Hornet, 204 Ruger, or 221 Fireball. I keep watching them up on GB but they all seem to go over $1000.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
I have got one, one of the neatest little rifles I own. Little Mauser action, functions like a clockwork Rolls Royce and is very accurate in .223. It shoots deer big and small. With a 20 inch barrel probably is as closes to a handy levergun carbine as you get in a bolt action. I should put a reflex red dot on it one day just to see how I like it...

I have one of these little gems in 7.62x39. Surprisingly accurate. Even with cheap ammo! Originally, I had envisioned a small scope for it. I ended up mounting a Skinner rear sight after drilling and tapping 2 small screw holes in the receiver. The aperture rear and hooded front sight are a great combo. Offhand shots to 75 yards are easier for me than I had expected. It finds its way on many outings for this very reason. MK

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
I bought one in .221 Fireball and had it barreled to a .20 vartarg. 40 grbt does 3500 fps. Most accurate rifle I have! Tennis balls at 300 yds no problem. Bipod and table of course! I am a 3 gun ground squirrel guy. 22lr 17 hmr and the vartarg.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
Mine is in .223 and it seems to shoot most ammo into the same group. I put a 1.5-5 Leupold on it and that seems like the right scope.
Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
I traded into a 7.62x39 CZ-527M ten years ago, which my wife promptly claimed as her rifle. I mounted a Nikon 2x7 scope and zeroed it at 200 yards with Barnaul Golden Bear 125 grain softpoint, a good supply of which came with the rifle. I was surprised when it put five of them in 2 2/3" at 200 yards.

We were watching a crossing when a doe finally meandered within 220 yards (per Google Earth). Peggi whispered "I can take her now" so I said "Hold a little high on the shoulder and shoot." I heard her set the trigger and watch through the binos as she fired. The doe landed on her chin and kicked herself under a hedgerow, but we found her at the end of a 30 foot, excellent blood trail. You couldn't have asked for better performance from the shooter, rifle or cartridge. Shoulder pic is the exit from the Barnaul softpoint.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
Looks like it did the job. I’d rather have that rifle than one of my AKs

I have one in .22 Hornet, makes red mist on the prairie reliably when fed a diet of Lil Gun and 35 grain bullets, anything under 150 yards or so is meat in the pan.

I have the CZ527 youth carbine in 30 Commie. It is a fantastic little rifle. I added the NECG rear aperture sight.
It is truly a shame they discontinued this rifle. They are beautifully made.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
I just heard that they discontinued the 550 series as well.
I wonder if they were not selling enough of them?
I love the way these rifles were made.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
Yeah, the 550 went the way of the Dodo a few years ago. Traditionally manufactured Mauser action, they couldn't build it at a competitive price point anymore.
I had one that I foolishly let go, it shot sub-MOA at 200 yards as well.
Never owned a 527 (yet), almost picked up a Hornet once but dragged my feet and someone else snagged it.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
It’s just right for a .223 or 7.62x39.

Re: Mini Mauser CZ527
Similar is the Interarms Mark X with controlled round feed and here with a small Leupold 4x. This one is .223 and very accurate.
