The .357 seems to bring more dough than the .44 mag. Less recoil plus cheaper factory ammo I assume. The nicer ones seem to be in the $800-$900.00 range. Good luck in your search. 1886. I guess they are worth whatever they will bring. $5,000 seems a little high to me, but who knows. I gave around $1,400 for a Winchester model 71 which was converted to 450 Alaskan back in the late fiftys or early sixtys. I will try to post a picture of it.

I have owned several over the years, my first was 1895 Marlin way back in 1974, but I currently only own a Browning B78 single shot. I have though about a Marlin Cowboy, or maybe Browning 1886. I would love to have an original 1886 with a nickel steel barrel, but they are pretty expensive anymore.

Well, I went ahead and ordered some sights from Midway. I sorta went half and half. I puchased a 5D for both of my Trappers, a FP for my model 39M and a FP for a 71 Winchester which I will either replace the Lyman on the 71 or have it put on my Browning 95.
