It's been a while since I was loading for a .45 Colt Rossi 92, but it definitely preferred hard cast bullets, and the critters didn't care.

Yes, the handload you quote is fine in your rifle, as will be any handload or commercial load not designated as a +P or "Ruger Only" load.

What velocity are these "bunny loads"? Are they falling below what the data would suggest? The Vihtavuori data I am looking at shows 2419 fps from a 20" barrel for a 130 gr bullet and max load of 32 gr. , and that's right up there with comparable loads with other powders from a 24" barrel.

Personally, once the cartridges get beefier than the .44 mag the No. 1 seems more appropriate to me than any revolver. That's going to be the absolute Hammer of Thor under 100 yards...

My experience, FWIW. Damage to the nose MAY affect accuracy, but usually not seriously; damage to the base is ALWAYS ruinous to accuracy.

Few realize today how much the German army was horse-drawn even in WW2. To his dying day, the suffering of the horses haunted my then-farm-boy future dad more than the suffering of the men. The humans, he felt, at least knew why they were there.
