Yes but the Ruger 96 would be COOL, they could probably use the same mag as the model 77/22 Hornet and it would be a lot cheaper than the excellent No1. :wink:

I'd go for the 12gauge, good for squirrel or bear and anything in between, the ammo can be bought anywhere so you don't have to carry too many heavy boxes of shells.

I don't have a photo but I still have the gun my dad gave when I was four. it's a single shot BB levergun.
He got it from his brother who bought it in the USA during the first world war. It was made in Plymouth. Mich. but I can't read the maker's name or Model. :)

When I used to shoot muzzle loaders at a gun club. there was always someone who had forgotten a vital bit of kit. I could usually help out as my possibles bag seemed to have most stuff required. Unless I went on my own and then it was ME that had left something at home. :oops:

Great post. Always important to get kids interested in safe and proper firearm fun. They must see so much bad gun handling on TV and video games. Even a couple of hours in the back yard with a BB gun can teach a youngster so much about shooting that they may want to continue with the sport for life....

There are a lot of Fallow Deer where I live (Hampshire) they make tasty venison, I have two packs of Fallow Venison sausages in the freezer but unfortunatly shot by someone else.

My brothers Webley & Scot Single barrel 12 gauge. age about 11 kicked like hell but dain't put me off. First double barrel 12 gauge I fired, about a year later was an old under lever hammer gun, first shot and it discharged both barrels, still got the flinch!! :wink:
