The price of gold and silver havn't really gone up its' the fact that the dollar has declined in value bringing the price up on the metals.

I have the Browning model 71 carbine and have used it the last two deer seasons and harvested to large bucks using tha Hornady 200 gr and both deer were hit hard and went less than 20 yds. I did purchase a used NEI 225gr GC mould and will be trying it next year. You will love the 71.

Most of the coyote's Ive shoot are DRT with the 50gr Blitz king out of a .223 and a couple with Hornady 55gr SP from a 22-250 but that being said I haven't taken a shoot over 150 yr in years most being in the 50 to 100 range.

I've used Sno-Seal with good luck, and also Montana Pitch Blend with good luck also but as of late I've been using Skidmore's beeswax blend. I really don't like to use mink oil and neatfoot oil.
