Yup uses a paper cartridge with a felt wad attached on the rear of the cartridge.Something like the monkey tail Westley Richards cartridge.Basically when fired the greased wad is forced through the bore by the second round greases and helps keep fouling down.Plus the wad helps seal the bore

I shoot 30/06 ,270, 45/70 etc no problem but I had a Sako Bavarian carbine in 308 that was unpleasant to shoot after a few rounds.It must of been the stock design because it wasn t a light weight gun despite being a carbine

The only problem I see with the Chiappa badger is quality control.Some people have them and like them but others have had more than a few problems with them so I guess it can be luck of the draw sometimes if you get a good one or not
