Grizz, be careful going up through the Aleutians. I know you know how the seas can change in that area. When I sailed on Chevron tankers in the early 70's I experienced the highest waves in the open Ocean. We were half full in fuel to be delivered. The waves were breaking over the wheelhouse about f...

Today was my lucky day. I scored 2 model 62 Marlins. 1 in 30 cal. Carbine and 1 in .256 Winchester Magnum. Got them from a distant cousin. Anyone have any experience with these rifles? They were made in the early 60's. They do not have serial #'s. Only 4,000 of these left the factory without them. T...

I shoot Beartooth cast 25 caliber sized to .314 in my Browning model 53 32-20,
plus in my pietta pistol. They work excellent.
Have you read all of Paco's articles on the 32-20. If not you will find them quite interesting.

Now that is an early car/truck gun. As Gunny said: cast the chamber. Also slug the bore. You will then know what it is chambered in. I wouldn't do any refinishing to the exterior it's exceeellennt as is. Heck this might even be known as being made by a known maker. It has lots of character.

I hope I have an understanding friend like him when I'm older.
Thanks, Doug
