Rebel, I have a Uberti '73 and would not load 300gr bullets in it.I would think you could shoot them but velociety would be low maybe 900fps at the muzzle and depending on the bullet may not feed in the action. I load 200gr lead bullets with HS6 powder for about 1300fps. My favorite loads in the 94 ...

In September A hunter from Alaska posted with pictures of a Moose(large rack) he killed with a special order Win 94 made I think in 1903. He killed it at 80 yards. was an excellent post. I printed the picture out and have it hanging on the beer-fridge. :) .It was this Mans 20th Moose.Jim.

Jeff, it won't cost much to try them. I have shot them for about thirty years now. I killed a bunch of fox squirrels over the years with them.I use the "longs" and from my bolt-action rifle they are as Menac says so quiet they are scary. Jim.

WinM71, Do You have a roof shovel? I got one at the local hardware a few years ago.they have an aluminum blade and extension handel that extendes to 24'.You pull the snow down and it works well. We have had as much as 30" up there at one time. Jim.

Welcome to the Fire. The Colt will do a great job on deer. In a rifle the pistol cartridges really come alive. If You reload the .45 really shines.here is a great article from Paco.
