Logical Thinking At It's Best !

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Woman to man: Do you drink beer ?

Man answer: Yes.

Woman: How many beers a day ?

Man: Usually about 3.

Woman: How much do you pay per beer ?

Man: $5.00, which includes a tip.

Woman (This is where it gets scary ! ) : And how long have you been drinking ?

Man: About 20 years, I suppose.

Woman: So........ a beer costs $5, and you have 3 beers a day - which puts your spending each month at $450.
In one year, it would add up to approximately $5400, correct ?

Man: Correct.

Woman: If, in 1 year, you spend $5400 not accounting for inflation - the past 20 years puts your spending at $108,000, correct ?

Man: Right.

Woman: Do you realize, that if you didn't drink so much beer, the beer money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account - which, with compounded interest over the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari ?

Man: Do you drink beer ?

Woman: No.

Man: Where's your Ferrari ?

Pretty good, but I'm having trouble relating to a feller who pays $5 a beer. He's not a beer drinker: he's hanging out at titty bars.

My Hamms runs 1/10 that on sale at Bi-Mart.

Women are great at things like that. But get very defensive when you ask them why they will drive 7 miles to buy 2 candy bars, a bag of chips and 2 20oz pops for a total of $8.72 not counting gas and time. Yeah $5 is spendy, but you get good company, conversation, peace of mind and no one to greet you at the door and chew you out when getting home at 2 a.m.................... but how much does a divorce and giving away 3/4th's of your possesions add up to over a 20 year period. (well 1/4th of that time anyway)

I couldn't buy a VW bug for what I've spent on beer for the last 20 years... the 20 before that... yeah, a Ferrari would be a distinct probability, and there wasn't a $5/beer among 'em, "gentleman's club" or not!

I'm reminded of the 65 year old man that asked his doctor, "do you think I'll live another 20 years?"

Doc: "do you smoke?"

Man: "no."

Doc: "do you drink?"

Man: "no."

Doc: "chase women?"

Man: "nope."

Doc: "why do you care?"

Yikes, a Blatz draft costs $1 at the local bar/burger joint. Sometimes they go on special for .50 cents.

That is certainly not excessive relative to prices here for beer (though I'm not counting Millweiser and Buddiller products as beer).

Q: Why do the British drink warm beer?

A: Because Lucas Electrics makes their refrigerators.

Having owned several British motorcycles ( Triumph's & Norton's ), I can personally vouch for the (un) reliability of electical stuff made by Lucas - The Prince of Darkness.

Coors?
Really?
I toured the Coors Brewery in Golden Co. while I was in the process of being interviewed for Rocky Flats.
It was really cold and really good.

I got a tour of the Coors brewery in Golden too, about 1989. I was there with my dad, who asked the tour guide where they kept the mice (http://content.time.com/time/magazine/a ... 21,00.html for those who don't remember). He got a blank look

They still make Blatz? Wonders never cease. That and Piels were the cheapest of the cheap when I was in HS in Maine. Yeah, I wasn't supposed to be checking out the beer prices, or drinking it either, but we all did both

Only problem I can see is that I don't like beer. Tito's vodka from here in Texas is good, as is Tullamore Dew whiskey from Ireland. I have an Angry Orchard hard cider 2 or 3 times a week. If I took and used all the money that I have spent on those items, I would probably have spent it on something else that I enjoy. I don't really want a Ferrari, and cannot afford a Bugatti Veyron. Besides, wouldn't most of us be afraid of even scratching the paint if we owned a Ferrari?
