Woman to man: Do you drink beer ?
Man answer: Yes.
Woman: How many beers a day ?
Man: Usually about 3.
Woman: How much do you pay per beer ?
Man: $5.00, which includes a tip.
Woman (This is where it gets scary ! ) : And how long have you been drinking ?
Man: About 20 years, I suppose.
Woman: So........ a beer costs $5, and you have 3 beers a day - which puts your spending each month at $450.
In one year, it would add up to approximately $5400, correct ?
Man: Correct.
Woman: If, in 1 year, you spend $5400 not accounting for inflation - the past 20 years puts your spending at $108,000, correct ?
Man: Right.
Woman: Do you realize, that if you didn't drink so much beer, the beer money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account - which, with compounded interest over the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari ?
Man: Do you drink beer ?
Woman: No.
Man: Where's your Ferrari ?

Re: Logic
Pretty good, but I'm having trouble relating to a feller who pays $5 a beer. He's not a beer drinker: he's hanging out at titty bars.

Dang, Earl.
I bet you've already got a plot picked out and a headstone carved.

Re: Logic
Women are great at things like that. But get very defensive when you ask them why they will drive 7 miles to buy 2 candy bars, a bag of chips and 2 20oz pops for a total of $8.72 not counting gas and time. Yeah $5 is spendy, but you get good company, conversation, peace of mind and no one to greet you at the door and chew you out when getting home at 2 a.m.................... but how much does a divorce and giving away 3/4th's of your possesions add up to over a 20 year period. (well 1/4th of that time anyway)

Re: Logic
I couldn't buy a VW bug for what I've spent on beer for the last 20 years... the 20 before that... yeah, a Ferrari would be a distinct probability, and there wasn't a $5/beer among 'em, "gentleman's club" or not!
I'm reminded of the 65 year old man that asked his doctor, "do you think I'll live another 20 years?"
Doc: "do you smoke?"
Man: "no."
Doc: "do you drink?"
Man: "no."
Doc: "chase women?"
Man: "nope."
Doc: "why do you care?"

Yikes, a Blatz draft costs $1 at the local bar/burger joint. Sometimes they go on special for .50 cents.

Re: Logic
Average price of a pint in England is $5.59 that's pub prices, beer is cheaper in supermarkets, thankfully....

But then it is either Nath or Gamekeeper that thinks me a heathen because I drink Vodka!
Re: Logic
That is certainly not excessive relative to prices here for beer (though I'm not counting Millweiser and Buddiller products as beer).game keeper wrote:Average price of a pint in England is $5.59 that's pub prices, beer is cheaper in supermarkets, thankfully....
Re: Logic
Can you still get Blatz Cream Ale? I visited Eau Claire and they had it in the clubs in little bottles....great stuff.yooper2 wrote:Yikes, a Blatz draft costs $1 at the local bar/burger joint. Sometimes they go on special for .50 cents.

Q: Why do the British drink warm beer?
A: Because Lucas Electrics makes their refrigerators.
Having owned several British motorcycles ( Triumph's & Norton's ), I can personally vouch for the (un) reliability of electical stuff made by Lucas - The Prince of Darkness.

Re: Logic
Coors?
Really?
I toured the Coors Brewery in Golden Co. while I was in the process of being interviewed for Rocky Flats.
It was really cold and really good.

Re: Logic
I got a tour of the Coors brewery in Golden too, about 1989. I was there with my dad, who asked the tour guide where they kept the mice (http://content.time.com/time/magazine/a ... 21,00.html for those who don't remember). He got a blank look
They still make Blatz? Wonders never cease. That and Piels were the cheapest of the cheap when I was in HS in Maine. Yeah, I wasn't supposed to be checking out the beer prices, or drinking it either, but we all did both

My Unit did a tour of the OB Brewery in Seoul....Most of us didn't remember leaving, and we had no idea of how half a dozen Hostesses ended up on the bus back to Yongsan (EUSA HQ)....game keeper wrote:I had a tour of my local Coors Brewery in Alton, Hampshire, UK, interesting and free samples......

Re: Logic
Only problem I can see is that I don't like beer. Tito's vodka from here in Texas is good, as is Tullamore Dew whiskey from Ireland. I have an Angry Orchard hard cider 2 or 3 times a week. If I took and used all the money that I have spent on those items, I would probably have spent it on something else that I enjoy. I don't really want a Ferrari, and cannot afford a Bugatti Veyron. Besides, wouldn't most of us be afraid of even scratching the paint if we owned a Ferrari?
