Now that's funny.

But, if I recall my firearms history correctly, the first firearms to have the term applied were the Volcanics. And it was reference to their "finger lever".

I'm neither an expert, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn last nite!

Way before our time, but for me personally it was 1968. I happened to be 5 years old then, my Grampa showed me his large lever collection of over 50 rifles, and told me straight to the point as he was holding a Winchester 1894 in 32 Special " When you get old enough to Deer Hunt with us get one of these in 32 special, or 30-30 because its the best rifle money can buy for these parts" Unfortunately I didn't listen to him until I was in my 40's. Sorry Grampa!

Reading Jim's article and the terms "magazine-fed lever action" it sounds as is they are separate. Matthew Quigley - "lever-action, breech loader? " where did that terminology come from. So the action may be one aspect and the loading system another. :?:
