I’m pocket carrying a bodyguard 2.0 and been using this method , for it’s inherent safety , mostly because of the sig sauer fiasco .

I thought it might be overkill to hire an Israeli to carry your pistol for you.

Even though any safety might malfunction, I have a Taurus which I carry most of the time. It has been reliable. My other Carry gun for when I need a smaller gon is a Kel Tec.

Israeli carry is dangerous and outdated. No one teaches it, no one advocates for it. If I need my gun, I need it loaded right now, not trying to load it while my non-gun hand is tied up with a child, pushing my spouse out of the way, or fighting a bad guy who just attacked me. In teaching many Force on Force classes, I never saw anyone able to draw, chamber a round and fire before the attacker reached them, and that was with knowing the attacker was coming after them. By surprise and under stress? Not gonna happen.

When we were just building our house and had toddlers and babies crawling all over the place and no separate bedroom yet, although I had a gun safe, I would keep my carry gun at that time in that manner figuring a child under the age of six would have an incredibly hard time chambering a 1911. In order to avoid chambering and re chambering and all that When I'd go to work I did take the shortcut of carrying all the time and what I guess would be called condition three in that format I think.

After seeing cases where people were attacked and didn't have two hands free to chamber their gun I changed my mind, and I got a rapid access gun safe to deal with the problem of child access.

When I was in the Navy, I stood in-port quarter deck watches, the 1911 was holster, full mag inserted, nothing in the chamber. This was in a standard military full flap holster. IOW: condition 3. The only time I had problem was a drunk sailor who threatened me by coming at me in a karate fighting stance from about 15 feet away. The gun was in my hand, cocked & locked before he finished his first step. Incident went no further. Adrenaline is your friend.
