The 6.5 oddly as it may sound is also one of the best "Brush" bullets according to a test performed on this. A great long distance bullet on top of that! The .260 sounds like it may be in my future also.

I reload , so I won't load to max but will give me room to play. I've always wanted a 22-250 so I bias toward it. Plus the 223 is offered in the same rifle platforms as 22-250 , so price is the same. In my opinion you may be unhappy at the moment, but from past incidents from fellow members Marlin will make it right I'm sure of it. Good luck, and fill us in on the outcome.

One of the options I will be looking at is to be able to remove the scope with a Quick Detach setup, and use the open sights if needed. I am sure both of your choices have this option. Whichever is the lowest to see over would get my vote.
