I use that same lee mold with my trapdoor with soft lead bullets with 60grs. 3f powder and a .20 inch thick 1/2 inch Backer Rod insulation that comes from Lowes hardware. I'd go with the Trapdoor, easier to reload for and you can buy blackpowder cowboy action reloads for a whole lot less than for the Martini/Henry. What kind of Trapdoor is it and whats the price?

They are not what they used to be. I went to one last weekend here in N.C. and it was bad. The next one I go to in another town close by next month may be better I hope. They are like a flea market you never know what you might find. Dont give up because your 1st one was bad.
