Has anyone had any dealings with the I.A.C. repro 87 lever action shot guns. Are they worth the money?

Suggest you go over to either of the following forums and do a search on "1887 Winchester" or "'87 Repro". The SASS Wire or CAS City: Gun Reviews. There have been a couple of topics on this board about them, but... they're several pages back. A search here brought these up. Plus a more specific search found this one: New 1887 problem. There's been a couple that have had different results; but generally I believe that like many copies, they have some issues that are generally related to the roughness of the machining, lack of hand fitting, etc. Generally, I seem to recall they are worth the price, if you're willing to have some work done post purchase. But, do some research and come to your own conclusions. I've never owned one, and have only handled an original, which, IIRC, required a mod to be able to load two for competitive use in SASS.

I had mine out to the range last weekend for the first time. She feeds from the magazine and fires fine, but can be finicky on extracting the hulls. Some evening I'm going to strip it down and tinker with the extractors. From looking at them, they seem kind of rounded on the inside lip, with may be the cause. Hopefully a few minutes with a bastard file will have that remedied.
