Re: To sling or not to sling.....

An easily-detachable carry strap will do, for "after the kill" carry.. My favorite is made of medium-weight leather, slit lengthwise for a 3-strand "mystery braid," with a J hook at the butt end, which hooks into an eye near the toe of the stock, and a twisted loop at the other ...

To sling or not to sling.....

Thoughts on putting a sling on the Henry Big Boy?

Good Idea or not?

If so is it better to have a gunsmith/ shop do it or...?

Thanks

Re: Henry Big Boy?

So essentially (for the most part anyway) what I have gotten from the responses to my post is that: There is a genuine contempt for Henry guns because their DNA is not historically correct. There is a theory that Henry falsely touts themselves. Henry has offended the SASS purists. Henry's are Americ...

Re: Henry Big Boy?

I surely ain't tryin' to start anything, and I appreciate any and all expertise around here, but are any of the above posters owners/shooters of a Big Boy? I'm not interested in the politics or business stuff (SASS or usage of the "Henry" name). Jes fer my own info., I'd want feedback fro...

He just turned 21 and had been hunting with his dad's gun (a semi-auto 30.06..eewwww  ). I figured the kid should have his own g...

As a matter of math.........

An AR15 platform can deliver on average 800 rounds per minute. That's 13.333 rounds per second. 13.33333333333 rounds per second = 1 round every 0.075 seconds. Obviously the user becomes the variable here but given the factual information about the weapon's (AR15) capability and an average skilled u...

Doubtful

EBR are fine but they are Sloooooooow. I can get 10 rounds fired off with my 92 Rossi before one can take the safety off a EBR. A lever gun will be faster for 10 round than a EBR every time. Let me start with: Is the above quoted, post a joke? If not then let me say this: I LOVE Lever Action...
