That stock looks a lot like the one on my sporterized Swedish Mauser. Fajen? My rifle oddly has a Douglas light sporter barrel but with that great big stock. Still shoots 6.5x55. I thought of trimming the stock down or selling it and getting a Boyd's or something

I believe it was a Smith and Wesson development acquired by Oliver Winchester and built upon by Henry to develop his rifle. This pistol is the forerunner of lever action repeating rifles.

I'm skeptical that improving the chamber would be worth it. The AI is not going to do anything the 348 can't do with those setups. Not my guns, but I think I would just find a load acceptable in both and keep things simple.

I took my Express out today turkey hunting. The 21 inch Rem choke barrel is handy. I put in an IC and OO buck for the bedroom corner. Never had a function problem. The finish is very cheap though. Got mine around 1990. My 870 functions much better than the gorgeous Weatherby 92 i sold to get it.

My MK II gas become more unreliable over time has has fired out of battery and ruptured cases a few times. Generally it does not like any hyper velocity or plus p loads. It's reliable with most high velocity solids and HPs but even slightly fast Power points HPs hang up.

He gave up his Greek titles to serve the UK. Yes he was an inbred noble and not British by birth or upbringing. He did serve the Crown with wit and charm. Not saying he was perfect or better than anyone else but I was sad to see him go

Pretty slick design but behind the times in the 70s for a military design. Ingram should have shopped it to established gunmakers. If the bugs were worked out, it looks like it would be a terrific civilian rifle. Looks sleek and handy and efficiently sized for a autoloader

With the baffle, new pistol drum, and a little experience things are getting much better. I've loaded every 45 auto case I can find. Even ran out of lead and went to my XTP stash for a few. They all have pretty close to 5.9 grains I feel. I'm going to see if I can find some LNL bushing before switch...

I still can't resist putting the charges on the scale and flicking off a few flakes of the higher charges. If it reads 5.8-6.0, I pour it back in the case. It truthfully probably doesn't make much difference. We're talking practice, plinking ammo. I would like some accuracy though

The electronic scale is rated accurate +/- 0.1 grains which I'm very comfortable with for any application I may load for. My 10 g check weight reads 154.3 grains every time. I haven't tried a lighter standard. I don't really care if my 5.9 charge is really 5.8 or 6.0. What I didn't like was variance...

I think next time I will directly charge a few cases in a batch then weigh them. seems like it would be easier to get consistent technique and minimize variation in settling. If it proves to be precise and accurate enough I can start charging a whole batch and weighing every tenth or so. Either way ...

In my LGS the demand seemed to go from AR and AKs to M1A to PC carbine types, then to Ruger minis and lever actions. Short shotguns aren't as plentiful either. I think the secret is out that the short lever action is a pretty good defender and utility gun. Plus they were never stocked in high number...

Generally their leather is a bit dressy and still very good quality. I would say they are geared more towards cowboy, working, duty, hunting rigs than ccw or minimalist utilitarian open carry. In other words you can show this stuff off and still use it

No it isn't normal. It does require more effort to cock the action with the lever versus cycling a cocked action but it shouldn't be hard. Lever actions of all types are pretty scarce at my LGS, especially short ones. Glad I have my Marlin 44 and my Rossi 45. Love to have a spare 44 or a 357 but they sure have gotten pricey lately.

I noticed I could scoop better most the time just not at the charge I want. The laboratorian in me wants to weigh everything until I’m convinced I have accuracy and precision. I think I’m on the way to improvements with the add ons

I’ve tried tapping twice on the intake and the dispense. It seems to help but I still get a flyer once in a while. I don’t think any of these charges are dangerous for what I might load but It seems like a lot of variance. Maybe a baffle or tapping the column with something each throw may help

Most bullet makers have a bullet or three designed specifically for 30-30s to work in lever actions. Just crimp in the cannelure. I wouldn't mess with other bullets designs or changes in length unless I were using a single shot or box mag

Wish I had gotten a 356 with brass and dies back in the nineties. Always thought it was well rounded cartridge for a tube fed rifle.
Thinking of getting a rebore to 338-06. I would just need dies. I can use 3006 brass, my powders for 308 and my bullets for the RCM. I don't need it but ....

I tend to stick with 230s mainly because they are easy to find and shoot to the sights in my 1911 and my smith 22. The Kimber shoots everything close to the sights the revolver shoots low in porortion to bullet weight. Thought of trying some heavyweights especially in the revolver for a field load

If it will expand in a 38 snub nose even less than than optimally, I think you will be okay at 950.

Much more variety than I expected. The specs in the catalog need work. There are a lot of models showing identical lengths despite having different barrel lengths. Some weights seems illogical too. So who knows what is accurate. Might be time to start shopping for a short 357 though

The Henry was the least expensive in the US when it competed with Marlin, browning and Winchester. They seemed to have gone up since Walmart has drastically curtained there gun sales. There are all very good but I'd rather have any of the latter for similar money. I wish I had bought a Marlin centen...
