What's your percentage?

Post by FLINT »

Thought I'd start a fun poll of sorts. Who are the die hard levergun fans. I was just realizing that I have very few non levergun rifles.

What percentage of your rifles are leverguns?

I think the fair criteria would be to only count centerfire and/or rimfire rifles and to not include shotguns or muzzle loaders in the calculation as those are rarely lever action.

My overall percent is 75% for centerfire and rimfire rifles combined. Separated out, rimfires are 50% and centerfires are 86% leverguns.

Like you, 50% of my rimfire rifles are lever actions, however, only 64% of my centerfires are lever actions.

Currently about 20 percent: One Uberti 1873 in .44 WCF of course! The others: Winchester Model 75 bolt, .22, CZ .223 bolt, 1903 Springfield in honor of my Dad, and a very old Remington Model 8, .25 Remington.

.
Slightly over half of my rifles are leverguns, then in descending order, semiautos (including a bunch of 10/22's each destined for each one of the kids and grandkids), bolt actions, and a couple single-shots.
Handguns are about 50% revolvers and 50% semiautos.

Overall, 30%. But I do have one lever-action shotgun in the mix. :D

I couldn't even begin to get an accurate count on rifles without spending a day or two doing inventory, so my best effort would be a pure and simple guess.

Ironically enough, shotguns are easier, simply because I don't have as many: out of 21 that readily come to mind, 3 are lever actions.
