Re: Rare Speer and Winchester .348 bullets
I found an ol Speer loading manual with loads for the 220 bullet. There is a YouTube video (North 61)where that bullet is compared to several other brands of 348 bullets(penetration, expansion, expansion) and it performed surprisingly well compared to Hornady and Barnes bullets. When I finish all my ...

I have a couple of 1886 Winchesters in 33 WCF, and newer pre-war Model 71s. Do old rifles help you be an old coot? Can I take my 450 Alaskan thru Canada, with form papers, on the way back to Alaska? Browning 71 carbine, FastFire sight, 200gr Hornady bullet/H4831sc load at 100yds. I get 2" 5 shot 100yd groups, same load in my iron sighted Winchester 71 rifle, usually 3 of the 5 are in a 1" group.

In 2007 I wasn't young but I also wasn't old yet. My little brother turned 60 recently, I think that means I am getting old although I'm not sure when the changeover to Coot-dom occurs. This may be a more important debate than Marlin accuracy... If everything aches when you wake up in the mor...

Still here from 2007. All my Marlin rifle calibers are accurate. Hmmm? Must be me. I gave a waffletop 35Rem that I can get 3 shot 1.5" or better groups with the Levergun powder recipe on the container. My 375Win Marlin does under 2" , 4 shots at 100yds and I haven't tried many loads in it...

I have been shooting my Browning 71 a lot lately looking for the best load with the 250 gr Barnes Original. For some reason, that rifle is just brutal. The muzzle blast and recoil knocks the bejeezus out of me. The 255 Barnes out of my 375 Winchester at 2,000 fps feels like a pussycat next to the 3...

Hornady 348Winchester commercial ammo (loaded with their FlexTip bullets) uses brass that is shorter than standard 348Winchester bras. Does anyone know of a reference source as to which of the commercial mmo with the FlexTip bullets utilize shorter than standard brass?

I think all of the 35 Remington fans passed away in the 1980's. :) I'm sure to pay for that remark very soon. The only thing I know about it is that it needs RCBS shell holder #9 ... an oddball.
