If you look at the front of the rear sight you will see that it is dovetailed into the barrel. Tap it with a hammer using a soft drift at that point it should slide across to the right.

Looking at gun catalogue's there are some weird guns that surely won't sell in large numbers, so why the Gun Makers don't make simple changes to existing models I just don't understand!! :?

The rear sight on your Henry requires tapping to the right but they can be mighty tight, use a soft brass or similar drift to move the rear sight so as not to damage anything.

I find it hard to understand why folks ignore danger and go to places where this sort of thing can happen without carrying the means to protect themselves. Here in the UK we cannot carry weapons for self defense so most folks have no choice. :x
