I decided to load some 218 bee this morning. Of course it needed trimming and polishing first.
While waiting on the tumbler I got a wild haired idea!
Since 41 is one of my favorites I decided to putz around. So here it is, the 41-450 bushmaster
No I don't think I'll go any farther at this point, just screwing around.

Re: New cartridge
I’m down, Will! Anyone have SAAMI’s phone number on them?

.
The local Gun Shop used to have a 50 BMG case necked down to 243 caliber. The owner had made it, and he said it took so many sizings and trimmings and annulling and inside neck reamings that he never do it again.

Doc, I knew a guy that did the same thing except he went all the way down to.17!
It's certainly easier to go down in size than up, to make that 1 case took me 4 steps.

I once cut a .50 BMG cartridge off and made a giant replica of the .45 ACP. I cut the cartridge to the proper length, then handmade a lead slug and superglued it into the cartridge. I rounded it off to the shape of a .45 ACP hardball. I had it on a shelf above my loading bench and a guy who had a gunshop talked me out of it. He wanted to display it.
OH .. I swaged a cutoff pistol cartridge into the primer pocket and then sanded and buffed it smooth. I seated a Small Pistol Primer in it so if you looked at the base there was no headstamp, just a Small Pistol Primer.
It was a lot of work and I never repeated it.
