Leverguns Down.... Andy Larsson
Hello All,
As many of you know, Lever Guns was down for about a week. The shutdown was by the server host, some tweaks needed to be made, and I want to thank Dave Fagan for his expertise and willingness to make it all work again.
Please give Dave a Shout out here with some kind words of appreciation. I really appreciate the camaraderie of this community and the willingness to help. GOOD WORK DAVE !!!!!
I want to Give Paul Morland a "Atta Boy" here also. He is always a calm, steady hand when we have things to tidy up here. Thanks Paul.
I've been on the go go go and haven't spent as much time here as I'd like. Thank you to everyone who keeps the conversations flowing and the lights on.
Sheila and I have been repping Skinner Sights in different ways the past couple months. We had a very productive time with all the levergun manufacturers during the NRA Annual Meeting in Atlanta. Marlin, Henry, Rossi, Smith and Wesson, Winchester, Browning, Taylor Arms, etc... ALL good things happening in the lever world. Skinner Sights is proud to have our sights on some of these rifles as OEM and certainly to offer options for almost anything lever that is made.
We returned from Atlanta to take a 12-year-old bear hunting here in Montana. 6 Days in the mountains with success on the last day, at the last hour (you know the routine) and the boy croaked a beautiful bear.
From that hunt, straight into a week spent with a lead production individual from Henry Repeating Arms, also looking for a bear. Though we saw a few and put the sneak on them, no success. We did have a few wonderful days yapping about lever actions, what's new, what's old, what we love, what really does work and what does not.
The next week was spent filming for Trigger Time TV. (Pursuit Channel) We talk a LOT about lever guns there and provide some fun historical views into all kinds of older firearms. If you get a chance, tune in, record on the DVR or check and see if we have them uploaded to YouTube yet.
We put the film crew on a plane, sorted our gear, and Sheila and I headed to Vancouver Island to hunt BIG black bears. What an amazing time. We saw 9 bears a day, most of them large boars. We both shot big bears. Tough hunting the steep rain forests of the Pacific Northwest along the Inland Passage. From salt water to snow on the ridges, the terrain was varied and challenging.
Returning from BC, we had two days to throw everything in the RV and head to Raton for Shootist Holiday. What a great Holiday and a 40th Anniversary celebration. The Shootists were having a great gathering, shooting the 40th Anniversary Marlin (By Ruger) 45 Colt 1894's, and deepening the think tank resources.
By the time we returned, the Skinner Sights production team kept me busy taking care of the things in house that needs my attention.
Anything needed from me, please shoot me an Email at andy@skinnersights.com

Re: Leverguns Down.... Andy Larsson
I was really wondering what was going on, was sorely tempted to start asking around a couple of other sites to see if anyone could clue me in and did do some digging around to see if anyone had posted anything about the situation elsewhere.
Thank you very much to everyone involved in getting things straightened out.

Thanks to everyone who got things sorted out! Maybe next time a heads up ahead of a prolonged shutdown might be a good idea?

Several of us had the search party out on other forums. Glad it's resolved and back online.

Thanks Andy for the hard work. I also want to thank AmBraCol for responding so quickly after I tracked him down on a motorcycle forum, of all places.
Again, a big thanks to all who worked to get us back together.

We had no warning…. It was just a poof. Then an email letting me know it poofed. No way to put out a notice. Sorry about that !marlinman93 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 18, 2025 9:30 am Thanks to everyone who got things sorted out! Maybe next time a heads up ahead of a prolonged shutdown might be a good idea?
