Loss of a Brother

Post by Paladin »

From 2LT through General, Friend, Teammate, and Team Captain, He pinned my 2LT bars on (from E-6). Joe was my Brother, and I worked with him taking over his A Team when he was promoted even after he retired from the military. From the story of him chasing a burglar out of the house with a knife (we bought him a State Police Revolver after that) to SOT training with Henry Tillman's Team. He will be missed but never forgotten.

That’s a mighty tough loss, Paladin. I’m the eldest of three and can’t imagine losing one of mine.

As I read this, I think of the 2 brothers I have lost.
I am the eldest of 6, 4 boys and 2 girls.
I lost my youngest brother in 2018 of a massive heart attack, the the brother 2 years younger than myself, my oldest brother from cancer in 2022.
loosing a sybling is heart breaking!

My prayers and thoughts go to you and your family.

Prayers and condolences. Sometimes the bonds we form while serving last a lifetime. And there always seem to be those that hit us harder.

For me it was "Doc". RHIP 9-11-01, North Tower. I know he would have been trying to help others until his last breath.

That's gotta be tough - but sounds like it was an honor to share life with him.
