I know I KNOW, it's already posted. But i think this should not go unnoticed. I know, I know this is a rifle test . . . but it's an awesome one . . .

Dang! Nice shooting! 8)
Years ago I handloaded for a Marlin Cowboy in .45-70 and figured the classic Remington jacketed 405-grain bullet at about 1800 -- well below full steam -- ought to be pleasant shooting. I was "mistook."

This was the only hunting rifle load my neighbor across the boardwalk used, said it did everything. I didn't inquire . . . LOL but i did acquire a 45/70 soon after . . .

My loading notes have an entry for the Hornady 300HP over 2400 that states "very accurate in No.1". I recall it was a 10 shot one ragged hole group at 100 yards using a 4x scope. Sadly the scope gave out shortly afterwards. In my experience the early ported Guide Gun is no slouch in accuracy either.
