You can see she broke the cardinal rule of gun handling, "don't touch the trigger unless you plan to fire your weapon"! At the point in the video where the gun fires her finger is seen inside the trigger guard on the trigger! Just how stupid is she that she tried to pull his gun out with her finger on the trigger?
I feel really bad for the gun owner who did everything right and got shot be an amateur who doesn't know basic gun safety.

It does point out the benefit of an actual manual safety on pistols. But then you might have to explain to the officer how to unload your firearm. Let's face it, most are only familiar with their issue weapon. Some years back I watched as an officer tried to unload a Remington 1100. He was only familiar with pump guns. It was quite comical, especially when he first took off the safety, and then left a round in the chamber when it was "cleared".

That department has already issued a policy of not disarming compliant individuals with a declared weapon.

Not that it helps them with this particular situation. She was pretty determined to pull that thing out of there.

I'm pretty sure she was canned. And their accounting department has already got out their checkbook...
