Favorite cast boolit, .45 Colt, from a 92
The little 20-inch Rossi has a 1:24 twist. Not looking for much more than 1200 fps. It may take dispensation from Congress (for whatever that might be worth!
) to find my stash of Lee 255s and a can of powder in the storage unit. Will be loading with the new-to-me 310 tong tool and dies, and looking forward to the adventure.

Yes, a 4 cavity mold and parts for the .45 s to use on everyday needed shooting with the nasty 9mm and 30 through 50 CAL saved for emergency use. Happy (and hopefully Peaceful) New Year.

I have a number of moulds that work in my revolver, but most are SWC style. Those sharp edges on SWC bullets can be difficult to feed in a levergun. For trouble free feeding in leverguns, most suggest either a RNFP or TC design that has the crimp groove located to produce the correct OAL.
Rossi’s have a reputation for being tolerant of feeding SWC style bullets, however I’d try to get a few samples from whatever mould you looking at and check the feeding.

I'm sitting here scratching my head, wondering if you're asking what our favorite 45 Colt cast bullet from a '92 is... or telling us what yours is. If the former, mine depends on use. For most of my shooting in any of my rifles I like a 200 grain RFN. Since most of my shooting centers around cowboy action, this is kinda a mid-weight for me. If I'm shooting BP, I really like the RCBS 45-225-CAV for the amount of lube it can carry. Mine casts about .454, 230 grains with the crimp groove so OAL is right at 1.575 with the crimp in the forward part of the groove. It feeds well in my Rossi short rifle as well as my Uberti '73 Sporting Rifle. It has to be crimped thusly to feed in my '73 Short Rifle or the 1860 Henry as their carrier mortises are a tad tighter... before I converted my Marlin 1894 to the Cowboy45Special, it fed any of my cast bullets, up to the 250 grain RFN from Lee. I don't think there's a bullet that won't feed in the 1885!
(Sorry, couldn't resist)!
If I load up any 45 Colt rounds faster'n the ~800fps I use for cowboy action, it's usually a jacketed bullet. I keep a small supply of 240 JHPs at around 1300 fps for the Rossi. (These need to be kept away from Colt SAAs or their clones).

I have an older Rossi 92 imported by interarms. I use the same cast bullet I use in my Rugers- a castboolits group buy clone of the RCBS 45-270 SAA that actually weighs around 285 grains. The Rossi has no trouble feeding it because the chamber is on the largest side of acceptable per SAAMI specs. After playing with the heavier loadings, I have settled on that bullet and 8.5 grains of Unique for every 45 Colt.
You have the right to force me to pay for the feeding, housing, clothing, education, and medical treatment of yourself and your children when I have the RIGHT TO FORCE YOU TO PICK MY COTTON.
