I made a scabbard.
My wife and I do leather workshops occasionally with a saddler.
Last weekend we decided to do a project - in this case it was a backpack style saddle. So I used my 1895CB and built to suit under the saddlers guidance. Was initially going to do a 10 round ammo thing on the sling but then he suggested why not a knife sheath, since I already have an ammo thing for my belt. Great idea! My wife liked the idea and decided she wanted a new sheath for her knife so made that also. Hers is purple thread and dyed brown. I’ll attach pics after.
If I ever get an 1886 it should hopefully fit that too.
Leather is buffalo. Came up fairly aged looking already but I’ll give it some more coats of oil to darken up more
And the wife’s creation:

Great projects! Few things are as satisfying as leatherwork, although I always struggle with my edges. And such a classic Marlin.

Wow, nice work -- well done!

Re: I made a scabbard.
Very nice!
The last leather project I did was a shotshell bag( I copied from bob Allen) . It held 10 boxes, smaller compartment for empties and a compartment for glasses, chokes.
Then a puppy, don't remember which one decided to use it for a teething toy!

Re: I made a scabbard.
I just love the idea of finding something that you and your wife can do together! You are a lucky man. All the work looks great too!
Re: I made a scabbard.
Thanks guys! A lot of credit goes to the Saddler we worked under. He’s the true master
What to make next? Maybe a cartridge wallet? I don’t know..

Love the sheath idea. I put slings on all my lever actions so no need for the scabbard ( great looking outfit and very good job, I like it) but that knife sheath I really like. Make quite a few knife sheaths also.

Very nice. I like it all but that scabbard is particularly cool.
