Here's mine with my Ruger 32H&Rs.
She's a McPhereson custom I got from one of the guys here( thanks again Gary/ 1886!).
What a Brut! :D
Like my dad would say "Kicks lika a Moscow Mule!" But it sure is fun.
With the Kick-eez pad it's not too bad with heavy loads. One thing I need to do is
put a large loop lever on it. My hands are kinda big and the recoil really smashes my fingers
inside the loop.
This one prefers the Speer 400 gr. Gold Dot fp. It's become one of my favorite trail guns. Light enough to carry all day and
more than enough firepower to handle anything I'm going to come across.

I am usually pretty easy going about guns and rifles in particular .

I have had a couple Ruger SRH's in 480 and they were nice enough !

Later Marlin "CLAIMED" they were making a model 1895RL that you could shoot both the 480 and 475 !
Well since I already had brass , dies , moulds and many jacketed bullets I was thinking this is great !

But as many are well aware , they RENIGGED on the rifle !

So later I ordered a Puma 480 . If I could have seen the rifle in person before I ordered it I would not have ordered it . It's a nice enough rifle , but for some reason it is not for me ! So I kept the little rifle about a year and never fired it ! Later I struck up a deal with a gentleman on here and to the best of my knowledge he is very happy with the gun !

That is a male model that we use for photos. He can't shoot worth a dern, but he sure does look good! Also, you can't tell from the picture, but he has BOTH eyes closed.

I remember seeing the 480 listed in one of Winchester's last few catalogs in 04-05 maybe. Did they ever make
anything in that caliber?

No they listed it for 2 consecutive years in their catalog !

And two years in a row I had my dealer contact them to see about availability and two years running they told him they had decided not to put that model in production .

As always, you guys are a wealth of information. I may not ever get a .480, but I just learned a heck of a lot about them.

THANKS!

I'm surprised "piller" hasn't posted here yet. On the last Levergunner's Texas Safari he used his 480 Puma to good effect dropping a 2000 lb. Water Buffalo. Good shooting Brian!
