Shudna looked back!

Post by Nath »

Yesterday deer hunting produced nothing so I went rabbit hunting instead.
Easier to carry anyway.

This morning I was deer hunting again. Nothing for me but sign everywhere.
Whilst hunting I bumped a fox I've been after for months. A bright coloured one, he has dodged me for months. Hanging around ewes in lamb can't happen on my watch!
He ran away but stopped to look back!

I hung around for deer for another hour and decided to head for home when the mist came down. But on the way witnessed a gos hawk try to kill a pheasant which was cool. Said pheasant hid under a bush. I err... switched ammo. Thanks Mrs gos hawk 8)

Always a bonus when you bag a feisty one!

Looks like a good day in the woods to me. :D :D

Excellent sir!
Putting that Winchester to work. Just can't beat that kind of versatility.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Nath, I've said it before, but darn if you don't do way more hunting that I ever have -- and in England of all places! Nice fox. Do you skin them?

No my friend. It's a shame I know but I would have mountain of them now and no one wants them.
I am very blessed to hunt where I can but my world hunting wise is getting ever smaller.

As I have gotten older my hunting world has shrunk also. Some of it voluntarily ... some involuntarily.

Nath you should come across the pond and I'm sure most of our members could find you LOTS of places to chase coyotes! Probably even find some pheasants too!

Glad you're having fun Nath 8) my hunting world has shrunk to nothing at the moment but maybe 2023 will be fruitful.

Thanks y'all.
I always cover my face. The amount of times it has bought me valuable seconds is amazing.

I think they sometimes thing I'm a fat deer.

This fox the other week was trailing me. I never saw him but the squirrels told me he was trailing me on higher ground in the timber. It was confirmed after waiting outside the timber and waiting on dark. Sure enough the fox emerged exactly where I had!
I couldn't quite see the sights and him that time though...

Gamekeeper. You'll find something I'm sure.
