Sunset in the Tularosa Basin, south-central New Mexico
Saw Jim's sweet thread and wanted to share a sunset from my neck of the woods here in New Mexico. I took this after work at the Otero County shooting range in La Luz -- a village my ancestors moved to from Kimble County, Texas, in 1884. They must have enjoyed hundreds of these as they lived out their lives here. The white line in the distance that delineates the basin from the San Andres Mountains is actually the White Sands of missile range and national park fame. Beyond those mountains to the west lies the Rio Grande valley.

Nice Ray! Reminds me of a sunset in Alaska on the Arctic Circle ...

Very nice Swagman! I lived in Mozambique for some years and loved the life South of the Equator. Here is a sunrise on the Indian Ocean in front of where we lived.

Now that is a dramatic sunrise JimT!, one day I hope to make it across to Western Australia and see the Indian Ocean for myself.

Jim, remarkable how closely the colors match in the New Mexico and Arctic Circle sunsets!

Yes it is. When I saw your picture I immediately thought of the one I posted. We were camped on the Yukon River when I took that. Quite amazing similarity.Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 9:30 am Jim, remarkable how closely the colors match in the New Mexico and Arctic Circle sunsets!
