OT Looking for western style rig for 1911

Post by Mich Hunter »

I have been trying to find a simple western style belt, holster and mag pouch for 1911 open carry. I have been looking for sometime now, but not a whole lot out there. Kirkpatrick leather makes a fine looking rig, but I can't bring myself to spend $300 bucks on one. Maybe I am being cheap, but thats just out of my price range. I also like the M7 tanker rig. I carry a 5.5 Blackhawk in a similar El paso rig. The only problem I find with this style is the lack of a mag pouch. Anyone go any good ideas???

Mich hunter, You should try sportsmansguide.com, They also have printed cataolgs, anyhow I'v seen some holsters for a 1911 that like western type your looking for, they are plain with no fancy border stamping, but I'm guessing It'll fit your needs. I saw them listed the holster, the belt, and either a single or double mag pouch for under $200. I think I've also seen them in cheaper than dirt.com as well. Hope this helps you out some.

http://www.nelsonleather.com/catalog/ You might look through these guy's lineup. I like their prices and service. I had a holster custom fitted for a particular firearm and the price was the same. IMO, the quality of their product is second to none. Give them a call and see what they'll do.

MY son just got a Tom Threepersons from El Passo after a wait of 7 weeks. Not too bad since they told him it would be 6. He then ordered an El Passo for his 1911 from Cheaper than Dirt and had it in 4 days... go figure.
