Peep sight for Henry H001T?

Post by wildmanh »

I spent yesterday evening shooting my Marlin with the new Skinner Peep sight and loved it. Was thinking it would be cool if I could find a Peep sight for the Henry cause I shoot it a lot more. Do you guys know of any Peep sights that will work with the Henry H001T Frontier model? Make, model, sorce and pictures would be apriciated. :) Thanks,

If your Henry has a grooved receiver Williams makes a peep that clamps to the grooves. Here's the Williams link. http://www.williamsgunsight.com/gunsigh ... efault.htm They have a choice of a 5D and a Foolproof model.

I think Williams makes the WGRS for grooved recievers now. Saw one at Midway USA site IIRC. It looked like it was made to set very low also.

The FP-GR is made to fit in the groove. You can get it with Target Knobs also.....FP-GR-TK.

I had one on my H001T and it was a perfect setup.

The 5D-GR sounds good and is in my price range. But does anyone have a picture of it? I'm not having any luck finding it online.

Jdad, do you still have the FP-GR on your H001T?

The WGRS-54, sounds like the right sight for my rifle. Again, any one know where I can see pictures?

I'm a very visual person by the way. ;) Thanks,

Here's the FP GR
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.e ... mid=319728

The 5D version will look similar to the Foolproof but without micrometer adjustments. Windage and elevation adjustments are made by loosening screws, moving the sight and re-tightening screws.

On the Williams site, download the 2007 catalog and see the 5D-AG on page 12.

I sold the rifle several years ago, with the sight.

Go to www.rimfirecentral.com, stop in the "Henry" forum, and ask for someone to post a photo of their rifle/sight combo.

Thanks guys for the links to pictures. :) That really helps. Anyone know of other brands of sights that might work? Just curious.

Maybe this pic of my BL22 with the Williams FPGR sight on it will be helpful. (I have subsequently leveled it). I like it very much but it did require a taller front sight - which is relatively easy to replace.

I installed one on my Ruger 10/22 also with a taller front sight.

Marbles do a tang sight for the Henry H001T http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm?v ... 229&step=2
Item #: MAR009848

If you would prefer a side mount that fits flush against the receiver a Lyman 66LA would work, as would the Williams equivalent, but you would need to drill and tap the receiver. These look neater than the wide FP GR.
