Prayer request
I'm about to go to bed for a few hours before I have to get up and take my bride of 39 years to the hospital for a hysterectomy. She had a ductile carcinoma removed from her left breast about 3 weeks ago and now this. Both were caught in the very early stages and I seem to be more worried about it than she is.
I thank you for your time, I am somewhat overwhelmed.

Definitely. Caught early most of these things are treatable/curable. But the "C" word still tends to shake us. May God grant you and her peace and heal her body quickly.

Re: Prayer request
You are not alone...…….. When my wife had her hysterectomy, I felt the same way, and broke down when the surgeon told me just after the operation that there was no sign of carcinoma.
I will pray that your family will receive the same good news.

Re: Prayer request
I want to thank all you fine gentlemen for your prayers. My wife came thru the surgery today with no complications. The doc called me as they were closing her up to tell me that everything was contained within the uterus and there were no lymph nodes involved. She is in quite a bit of pain which they are medicating using newer protocols which call for less medication which I'm not happy but it is what it is.
Thank you all again,

Re: Prayer request
I just now noticed this thread. Prayers for a fast and pain free recovery sent.
The new protocols are an unfortunate result of a few people becoming addicted to pain killers and the do-gooders forcing everyone to follow their ideas instead of letting a Doctor be the one who is trained for and best qualified to decide on what and how much to allow. I see people in pain who cannot get enough to control their pain, people who are convinced that they should never have any pain at all for any reason without getting narcotics, people who work with their Doctor and control it so that they can live their life, and everything in between. I am convinced that some soreness and a little pain are good reminders that you might need to take it a little slower and lighter until healed. No, I don't mean the type of pain that causes you to get nauseated and dizzy. I mean the type which tells you "Hey dummy, you had surgery a week ago. Don't try to pick up that 25 pound bag of groceries by yourself just yet!" There is always some healing time.

Re: Prayer request
Rusty, so good to hear the positive prognosis. I am sorry your bride is caught up in the pain medication wars at a time when she legitimately needs and deserves relief. Prayers for quick healing, pain fully under control -- and for peace of mind for both of you.

Copy that Rusty.......it's quite natural to feel the pain that others are going through. ----6
Re: Prayer request
Thanks Vic, and all.
She's a bit sore now and will be for a few more days. It seems when they do a robotic surgery they pump the abdomen full of CO2 to make room for the instruments. All the gas doesn't go away right away, it takes a while for the all the gas to be absorbed by the body and the distended belly to go away.

Re: Prayer request
My wife had such a procedure (the laparoscopic procedure, not the hysterectomy) several years ago. Indeed it takes a while. It's less invasive than the traditional "lay 'em open from stem to stern" type surgery, but it still generates its own type of discomfort. Prayers for you both as you go through the healing process.Rusty wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 12:27 am Thanks Vic, and all.
