Maine + Moose Equals......
Well, except for some leverguns, a boat (or two) and a motorbike...
This Mainiac has almost everything he needs...
A house, a barn, an outbuilding, an ice shack, an old blue tarp, a pickup and a car -- and a MOOSE too!

Now I reckon I never see game hauled like that. Sometimes a deer tied on the back bumper or the front fender, never inside.

Wow, that's some serious damage, a few years ago I hit a small Roe deer, It did £2000 worth of damage but I could still drive home. That was a Hyundai too.

Years ago when I was traveling a lot up to the "County" I did see an accident similar to that but the smallish cow went right through a Ford LTD! Through the front windshield, out the rear window and fell back on the pavement. Fortunately, the driver made it out fine!

Re: Maine + Moose Equals......
My "Sweetie" had 2 deer just run into the sides of her moving SUV on separate occasions. Just got one side fixed and the other was wiped out. Both mature bucks and one just jumped up and ran off. Cost was several thousand dollars each time too. She put some of those deer whistles on the front bumper and hasn't been attacked again yet. Except yesterday I was riding shotgun and doing my usual deer hunting when I spotted one coming through the fence and said "deer" rather loudly. She got on the brakes and it crossed just ahead of us as if determined to beat us to the crossing regardless of the danger.

Darryl, was anyone killed in that collision? Looks unsurvivable.
Re: Maine + Moose Equals......
All too common occurrence in these parts, unfortunately.
Certain areas have high car/moose incidents. That is looked at when deciding permit numbers for hunts in some if the districts.
You wouldn't think so, but at night, they are almost impossible to see.

Over the years, I've developed a routine for night driving, 'specially on the high speed roads. 1.Slow down. 2. lights on HIGH 3. use center line when traffic allows 4.Watch the shoulders for any movement. because you CANNOT see their eyes. Avoid driving at night unless your in an 18wheeler. Been lucky, so far. Pepe Ray
