New Guy From Arizona.
Roasting here in the Arizona heat but still managed to get out and buy myself a Marlin 1895 45-70 guide gun recently and even went out and put a box of Remington 300 and 405 grain factory loads through her.
It was made in 2000 and I was happy to see it was already shooting center for me! Didn't have to mess with the sights at all. In the process now of getting all the reloading gear I'll need and plan on getting out and at the very least busting a coyote and a few Jackrabbits with it soon.
Been lurking here for awhile now enjoying the wealth of information and found it was time to join the group.

I'd use the 405s on them AZ jackrabbits...they pretty rough to deal with.

Welcome from Oregon where we are hanging on to our guns in spite of our politicians here.
Love the Marlin 45-70, shot a bear with one, it went all the way through from front to back,
those are beautiful guns.

We're semi-roasting here in New Mexico as well -- low 100s. That means shooting weather is over well before lunch in my book. Congrats on your Marlin in a glorious caliber.

Welcome, if the caliber starts with .4 it can't be all bad as a lever.
