I had a playing card that John Wesley Hardin Had shot holes in in 1895 to advertise the grand opening of his Wigwam Saloon in El Paso. He shot them at 5 to 10 paces and signed them or put his initials on them. He gave them away as a promotional gimmick. My son had seen the card when he was little and said why don't we shoot some cards for his kids. I told him we would try it. I lucked out and did pretty good at 10 paces. He ask me to frame them up to put in their room and this is how they turned out. I put the cards, photo of the rig I used, and a small shot of me at the ranch where we did the shooting. The background is a leather like material. The grand kids loved it and like showing it off to the neighborhood kids. I never thought it would be that big of deal. The oldest boy is now reading a book on Hardin. I had to sell the original card to help buy a new house a long time ago and have not regretted it. I just thought y'all might want to try something like this for your grand kids or children. It was fun.

It was kinda amusing that my son hit the first card all three shots, then missed the next 9. We need to work on his six gunning. I told him to take that first card and frame it. It may be awhile before he does that again.
