Another Colt SAA (Bisley) to go with lever 38-40 pics.

Post by rangerider7 »

This passed weekend I bought another 38-40 Colt SAA to go with my Winchester 1992 SRC 38-40. It is a Bisley. It action was great and the bore too. I had never shot a Bisley but wanted too, and I wanted a 1st generation Colt Bisley for my collection. I took it out as soon as I got back; it shot great. I have been pretty lucky that the Colt SAAs that I have obtained have all shot well. The 1892 SRC shoots great too. These two 1st generation Colt SAAs I will shoot often. The Bisley was made in 1904. The other Colt SAA was made in 1920. I thought y'all might want to see it. I got it for 1700.00. I thought that was a pretty good by.

Ben_Rumson, That is the first Bisley that I have shot. Nothing feels better to me than a Colt SAA, but I was very impressed with the Bisley. It seemed to point easily and at 20 yards I put two 38-40 in the same hole, shooting off hand. That was probably luck but it felt real good. I can see where the trigger and hammer made it a great match SA. The Bisley just kind of shoves and the SAA rolls. It will be fun taking them out to the ranch and picking off some coyotes and hogs from time to time.
