Sorry all, as I just got this today...
It's too late for Memorial Day -- but never too late to pause & reflect. And it was really well done!
Thanks to all those who served, and still serve today.

Thanks that's a good one. For me at my age Memorial Day will always be May 30.

Re: Memorial Day Tribute Commercial (a little late...)
I will make two comments and let the chips fall where they may.
-- My dad, a decorated WW2 combat vet, died 14 months ago at age 90. Through the years, when Veterans Day came around he would don his old uniform (yes, it still fit!) and gladly accept any and all thanks and accolades offered. But on Memorial Day, he would always say, "Thank you, but your thanks are misplaced. Memorial Day is for the real heroes, the ones who never came back. Don't honor me; honor them, as I have every day of my life since 1945."
-- This ad and others like it are in fact just a cynical attempt at selling products, shamelessly exploiting the memory of those supposedly being honored for profit. They are not worthy of praise.

Pisgah , I wish your Dad was around here over the long weekend , our local news stations and the folks they interviewed ( even the school kids placing flags ), all seemed to forget the main reason for the day and your Dad summed it up very well.
The first few news stories I thought I wasn't paying attention close enough. I asked my wife if she noticed anything missing and she noticed as well , barely a whisper about those that never came back .
All weekend it sounded more like Veterans Day .
She remembers growing up that her mom and dad referred to the day as "Cemetery Day".
