If you don't have the book or maybe if you do, you can read it here or download it for your very own.

Unlike many, I don't worship Elmer Keith, but I respect him and the life he lead. This book is a classic of American history and culture, whether you are a gun guy or not. I would not be without a copy of this book (and "Sixguns").

Unlike many I do worship my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and I do enjoy reading my copy of Hell I was There by a great American cowboy and gun writer.

Elmer Keith did a lot for pistol shooting. When people realize what is possible, they find that they even might be able to do the same. Back in the 70's, I read Elmer's books and articles. There were some who called him a liar and did not believe the things he did with a pistol were possible. I have done a bit of long range shooting with the Ruger .41 and the 1911 .45. I have also taught others to do the same or close. Elmer brought shooting a quantum leap from what it was to what it is.

I've read both of his "Gun Notes" books, but bought the kindle edition of "Hell I was there." just about a week ago to read. My timing is once again horrible.

Precisely - undebatable!

Thank you so much - this was THE book missing from my library. Downloaded the Kindle and PDF versions!

I also have a copy of Hell I was there. I also have Sixguns read it so much that the pages r almost falling out. But my favorite book is Keith An Autobiography. I paid $10.00 for it in 1976.
