Slide Fire Stock?

Post by GonnePhishin »

While surfin' the other day I came across their website. Looks intriguing but I think you'd burn out yer' barrel in no time flat.
Anyone have any experience with em"?

Burn out your wallet first.

I know people who bought them. More of a novelty item and the novelty wears off quick, especially as the wallet empties (which it does in no small amount just buying it).

I have enough OCD that I always want to be in control of each shot, and those kind of take that away. I never lusted for 'real' full-auto either.

Now if 3-shot burst was available for a reliable 22 LR carbine....

AJ, do you really need 3 shot burst for a .22 lr? I would bet that you can keep it in the 9 ring at 25 yards while pulling the trigger just as fast as the action will cycle. With 20 or 25 round magazines for a 10/22, you should be able to empty the entire magazine in one continuous poppoppoppoppoppop...

One of the guys had one at our gun club a month or so back. He ran a 30 rd. mag through it just to show everyone what it did. I bet 20 rounds fired before the first empty hit the ground. That barrel was smokin hot after 30. That has to be bad on the pocketbook and the barrel.

Spray and Pray has always seemed to me to be a terrible waste of ammo, and a little silly. JMHO

Expensive way to waste ammo.

Good point, but 25 years ago I had a chance to purchase a Ruger AC-556, and I already had a Ceiner 22 LR kit for my regular Mini-14. We had a huge Feral Cat problem at the time, and it just seemed like a suppressed AC-556 in 3-shot-burst mode would be just the ticket for dealing with the problem humanely and effectively.

The Marlin 1894-C in 357 Mag proved up to the task, however.

Played with one a couple of years ago. Not nearly as accurate or as controlable as a true full auto. Seems an expensive way to make noise and waste ammo. Save up for a true class 3.
