Obviously these are a contracted form of the Winchester 94---but can anyone tell me if they are pre or post 64? I recall someone stating they were all made one or the other but I can't recal which.
I found an example that appears to be well used but not abused for a good price ......it might a good candidate for one of the two projects I have in mind (7-30 Waters with a 26" barrel or a 38-55 with a 16" barrel).
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I don't remember off-hand but I'm thinking post-64. You can readily tell by looking at the action. Check out Miller's excellent article on differentiating between pre and post 64 Winchester M94s.

Thanks guys....I'll let you know what happens if it happens.
I originally wanted to go 38-55 with a Marlin because the Marlin company has redone a couple of 336s returned to them for a very reasonable price.
And I recall that Harris and Waters both worked on the 7-30 Waters concept and they did it based on a Marlin action.
Thanks again,
Wm
