Good Omen??

Post by .45colt »

Took a drive with the Wife, Son, his Wife and Grandson Saturday. looked at a really cool piece of property. As We drove down the road the sun came out (had been cloudy all day). We all got out and were walking to the back of the piece and in some tall evergreen trees was a huge white Owl. just sitting on a limb. We were tromping around like the 7th Calvary and the Owl didn't move until some crows found it and started bothering it... that Owl will always stick in my mind ,at one point We were prolly 75' away. Made Me feel Great. How would You Guys See this.???

I've had an "Owl Talk" before. Eerie and peaceful.....Those with a NA background differ on this....

There`s a lot of folk lore in owls, my mother loved owls and had several statues of them in her house. A few days after she passed away in 2001 this owl landed on a branch just outside the house window. I went outside and it just sat there looking at me with a real peaceful look.
It did this two days in a row and it was pretty freaky but made me feel good.

Owls have a special place in NA culture.
I do not have the fear of them that many of my friends did.

Had a big one on the telephone pole in the alley behind my house.
We have citrus trees in the neighborhood, they hunt the roof rats that feed on the citrus.

Used to get Snowy Owls in yard when they flew south from Canada for whatever reason. Sure drove the geese crazy and my rabbit would not come out from hutch unless I was there with it. Neat critters, always feel lucky when I see one.

That is what I was talking about.
I have never experienced the negativity associated with owls.

Well life is a strange place and the world is strange, fact of the matter is that God knew this, first he gave the ten commandments for man to follow but man being the natural sinner he is thought they were better and smarter than God built this tower thinking they could reach a God that way but it failed.
Just as we see it today where the world is trying to do it they're way and failing.
As Monty would say, my o my

Wow, we had a similar thing happen after my wife's mother -- a lifelong lover of owls -- passed away, as there was a Saw-whet Owl sitting out on the wire in front of the house for a few days each afternoon... Being up high, it was almost like she/it was watching over us... Will never forget that!

We don't know "what it was", but it was "something special" for sure.

Crows are smart and have power. Maybe it was they that spoke to you.

Bicycling thru Canada I enjoyed the Ravens. Except for a couple groups at a few campsites. There would be 4-5 and they would perch on a picnic table 50feet away or so. They would raise such a loud ruckuss and wouldn't shut up till you brought them some food. Wondered how they learned that trick!

There might be a couple other ways to get them to shut up. . .
